Ohio University's chief human resource officer announced yesterday that he will leave Athens in March and accept a position at Purdue University, making him the second top administrator to leave OU this calendar year.
Luis Lewin has overseen Human Resources at OU since November 2008, earning $165,000 a year. He will fill a similar position at Purdue.
Linda Lonsinger, who currently earns $95,863 as senior director of Human Resources, will replace Lewin. Lonsinger has experience leading OU Human Resources, serving as interim associate vice president of Human Resources for six months in 2008 prior to Lewin's hiring. She has worked at OU since 1998.
I've got some big shoes to fill
Lonsinger said, adding that the department changed for the better during Lewin's leadership.
(Lewin) brought a level of sophistication to Human Resources and I think he had some good ideas that we were able to incorporate she said.
Lonsinger added that impending university budget cuts make working in Human Resources increasingly difficult, but said the department is ready to embrace tough times.
Linda is very well respected and I am pleased that she has agreed to provide leadership to our HR area
said Mike Angelini, OU's interim vice president of Finance and Administration, in a statement.
In January, OU's top financial officer Bill Decatur left OU to become the executive vice president of the Rhode Island School of Design.
