An MTV reality star will bring his penchant for the gym, tanning and laundry to a local apartment complex.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro from the reality TV show Jersey Shore will be at The Summit at Coates Run, 363 Richland Ave., from 6 to 10 tonight as part of a free promotional event.
With a pickle-eating contest, a polar bear dive in the pool and look-alike contests, The Summit management has themed the entire evening around Jersey Shore.
Jersey Shore is very popular among our target audience
and we thought it would be a great opportunity to have a fun controlled event for people to come up without having to find time out of their day for no other reason than curiosity said Jessica Nix, national director of marketing for Place Properties, which owns The Summit.
The Summit recently completed its second phase of construction, and tonight's fist-pumping extravaganza will have incentives to get potential leasers to sign on the line.
Anyone who signs a lease the day of the event will have one month of rent waived
about a $600 value depending on the unit type
Nix said, adding anyone who signs a lease tonight will also be entered in a drawing for a year of free rent.
Here's the situation: Although the event is free, attendees are asked to print off a ticket from The Summit's Web site, www.summitatcoatesrun.com. Tickets are also good for a ride to the complex on the Summit shuttle bus. About 2,000 tickets were distributed in Athens this week, Nix said.
If people don't have a ticket
we won't turn them away. Tickets will get lost or treated as a flier and we recognize that
Nix said.
Like the throngs of people on the Jersey boardwalk, The Summit management has not placed a crowd limit on the promotion, noting that many of the activities take place outside.
Those wanting to partake in Ron Ron Juice or other alcoholic drinks must be 21 or older and bring their own.
We're not serving alcohol
but we're providing free food
much of which was donated by local vendors
Nix said. If you're over 21
you can drink alcoholic beverages. ... We follow the law. We don't welcome underage drinking on our property.
