University's Board of Trustees will have a new chairwoman at its June meeting.
Trustees voted Friday to make M. Marnette Perry, an eight-year veteran of the board, its chairwoman for the next year. It will be the last year of Perry's term.
Perry is a senior vice president of the Kroger Company.
Current Chairman C. Robert Kidder will become vice chairman.
Kidder agreed to take over as the board's leader last spring after then-Chairman C. Daniel Delawder's term ended. Perry, who was also vice chairwoman under Delawder, declined to take the higher position because of family health concerns.
Kidder is in his seventh year on the board and is currently serving as CEO of Chrysler. He attended three of five meetings during his time as chairman of OU's board.
The board voted unanimously Friday to make the switch now that Perry has said she feels she can take on the responsibility.
