The Ohio men's golf team will hit the links for its final regular season contest this Saturday at the Rutherford Invitational in State College, Pa.
In its 34th year, the Rutherford Invitational is a 54-hole, two-day event featuring 14 teams from across the country.
The schools participating in this weekend's event include Bowling Green, Delaware University, Francis Marion, George Mason, Temple and Towson.
The event is hosted by Penn State and its par-71, 7,202-yard Blue Course and will start first-round action beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
Round one pairings for the Bobcats include a tee-time on Saturday at 7:48 a.m. with Sunday's tee-time determined on team placement in rounds one and two.
Ohio coach Bob Cooley was unavailable for comment about Saturday's opening round, but the forecast for tomorrow's round could potentially present some problems for the Bobcats as rain is predicted for both Saturday and Sunday in State College.
Penn State senior Kevin Foley is the highest-ranking participant in this weekend's event at 8No. 46 in the nation, according to Golfweek.
The last time Ohio competed in this event was in 2008, when it finished ninth overall, but four of the five players in that outing are still currently on the Ohio roster.
In that effort, the Bobcats shot a three-round total of 920 (297-298-325) with Chad Warmbein finishing tops for Ohio with a 229 (+16). Penn State ended up winning its own event with a tournament score of 878 (+26).
