Ohio University's Board of Trustees will vote today on changes to the board's by-laws that include staggered terms for two of its non-voting members.
The board will likely vote in favor of staggering the terms of its two national trustees. Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, who appoints all trustees, would then appoint two people to replace current national trustees Charles Stuckey, Jr. and Frank Krasovec , whose terms expire June 30.
If the new by-laws are approved, two trustees will be appointed July 1. One will have a one-year term and is likely to be Krasovec, according to Trustee Sandra J. Anderson.
The other trustee will be appointed to a three-year term, and all future appointments will be to three-year terms.
Anderson recommended that the board keep a running list of candidates for national trustees and named some of the top candidates.
Up to this point
there has really not been a process criteria used by the board
said Tom Davis, the board's secretary about the selection process. This is a great opportunity for the board and the trustees to think about what their needs are.
The committee agreed to choose a candidate at their next meeting to nominate to the full board and mentioned Greg Moran, a senior vice president at Nationwide Insurance who has worked with OU's IT Oversight Committee, as a possible frontrunner.
He has the kind of hands-on experience that we have appreciated with Chuck (Stuckey
Jr.)
Anderson said.
The Governance Committee also agreed on two additional appointments to the Kennedy Museum of Art Advisory Board. The full board will also vote on that resolution today.
