Former Bobcat receiver Taylor Price was selected by the New England Patriots in the 3rd Round of the National Football League Draft Friday night.
Price became the 90th pick overall and the 12th receiver selected and the eighth in the 3rd round.
Teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers passed on Price, ranked the seventh best receiver before the draft by Scouts, Inc., for Jordan Shipley (Texas), Eric Decker (Minnesota), Andre Roberts (The Citadel) and Armanti Edwards (Appalachian State).
Price gave a personal workout to the Patriots earlier this month.
He is also the third Bobcat in three years to be drafted in the NFL. Last season, Michael Mitchell was drafted in the second round by the Oakland Raiders, and Landon Cohen joined the Detroit Lions after being drafted in the seventh round.
