Our newest budget woe involves the Baker University Center, which needs to cut 15 hours a week from its operating hours. Baker is the living room of the campus, and students will be affected by its shortened hours - so, Student Senate is trying to gather student opinions on what these hours' reductions should look like. At Wednesday's Student Senate meeting, it was proposed that perhaps Baker could be closed on Sundays, or could close earlier during the week. (The building needs to stay open earlier in the morning because administrative offices need to be open.)
Students with ideas and opinions on the matter should fill out the 35-second survey at http://tiny.cc/BakerUnivCenterSurvey; results will be processed at the end of this week so Student Senate can make recommendations about the hours cuts.
