Track: 'Cats stay local to find success

The teams that came to Athens last weekend found out the advantages of home field as Ohio used them to the fullest.

One thing coach Clay Calkins said he was interested in seeing was how his team would fare against Mid-American Conference competition.

He got his answer as his team bested two MAC opponents and former MAC member Marshall. The team finished with 218 points.

The Bobcats will attempt to use the momentum they gained for this weekend's All-Ohio Championships, which is taking place in Athens.

I feel like the team will use the momentum from last week to perform the best we can this weekend

said Cathy Udeani, a junior high jumper. This past weekend was an eye opener to many people in terms of what they are able to accomplish.

Udeani is also optimistic about the team's chances in the All-Ohio Championships.

We should finish pretty high there is no reason why we should finish low at all Udeani said. We have seen many of these teams and have out-performed several of them.

In this meet, the Bobcats face a bevy of teams that are in their conference. Bowling Green, Akron, Miami, and Kent State will all compete in Athens.

Udeani mentioned the strength of the MAC teams that they will be going up against.

Akron and Miami should be pretty strong

Udeani said. Bowling Green and Toledo will probably try to seek revenge from last weekend
