Baseball: Recent rain washes 'Cats off home fields

It might have poured in Athens, but the Bobcats are in the midst of an actionless drought.

An Ohio game was canceled because of rain for the second time this week. Youngstown State was scheduled to visit yesterday, but the weather prevented the Penguins from waddling down I-77.

We want to play the games

but I don't worry too much about things we can't do anything about said coach Joe Carbone. It is what it is and we just do what we can to

stay sharp.

The Bobcats have been confined to watching game films and hitting in the batting cages since Sunday's 12-5 win against Buffalo. Ohio swept the Bulls this weekend.

This is the first time since exam week Winter Quarter Ohio has not played a midweek game.

The Bobcats will travel to Akron tomorrow for its penultimate weekend of Mid-American Conference play. Like Ohio, the Zips were also slated to play in Pittsburgh Tuesday, but their contest at Duquesne was also rained out.
