'Sex and the City 2'
In the blockbuster battle of ogres vs. hot and independent New Yorkers, ogres prevail. That's right, the opening weekend of the cleverly titled Sex and the City 2 was overshadowed by Shrek 4. But I'm worried. The success of sequels is how The Land Before Time happened. We need to learn from history here, people. Shrek was a good movie the first time, the second time, and heck, maybe the third time, too. But we find ourselves at an impasse. This is a rallying cry to go out there and save Shrek from itself by seeing Sex and the City 2 instead. I mean, unless you want a Shrek: The Journey to Ogre Isle someday. Come on - for the children.

Summer road trips
Summer is awesome. I'm starting off mine with a four-day cross-country road trip. When it comes to preparation, there are only two things that matter: food and music. After you have gotten all the boring stuff out of the way (maps, emergency cash supply and all that navigation stuff), don't forget to head to the grocery store and pack a cooler of snacks (it's cheaper than stopping along the way) and make
an extensive iTunes playlist (you've got to respect the classics in order to have a decent summer playlist). You're all set and remember: Life is a highway.

The French Open
Tennis' finest will collide on the clay of Roland Garros Sunday. In a sport that people only care about four times a year, this tournament has everything fans and non-fans alike could possibly want: underdogs, cool and sometimes provocative outfits, loud grunting and lots of roses. Rafael Nadal is looking to take over the No. 1 world ranking while the rest of the men's field is looking to top the King of Clay. Check out all the finals action on NBC Sunday.
