A search warrant was issued yesterday for an Ohio University student who allegedly stole a laptop from the university in late May.
OU sophomore Travis Koury is wanted by police for allegedly stealing a Lenovo X61 Thinkpad laptop from an OU utility vehicle May 28, according to court documents.
The vehicle was locked in the South Green Garage, but when the laptop was stolen, the window was removed from the vehicle, according to the documents.
The laptop was reported missing by OU Information Technology worker Daniel Post June 1. Post reported the theft to the OU IT Security Department.
The department was able to track the laptop by its serial number and found that Koury's OU login information was used to access the laptop, according to the documents.
A search warrant was issued to search Koury's person and his residence, Martzolff House, 127 S. Green Drive, room 252.
