PostLetter: Pitch in to better your temporary hometown with service fraternity

Dear Editor,

We all know that students don't do much that pleases the year-round citizens of Athens. Students tend to spend their time having too much fun and making a mess (not that there is anything wrong with this). But students should take some time to think about all that Athens provides. Few other places provide the educational and cultural benefits as our southern Ohio oasis and none provide a better location for a good time.

I have found that the best way to thank Athens is by giving back. Community service is a beneficial and enjoyable way to show the city we abuse that we really do care. As a member of Alpha Phi Omega, I have unlimited access to community service opportunities that allow me to learn about the area while repaying what I owe to it. I would suggest to any who love Athens to look into how they can give back on a regular basis. Alpha Phi Omega is a co-ed community service fraternity that provides opportunities for involvement, friendship, leadership and a chance to spend some time bonding with the city we all love.
