Despite having already claimed at least a share of the TVC-Ohio division title, Nelsonville-York coach David Boston said his team still has a lot to play for this weekend against Athens.
With a win against the Bulldogs, the Buckeyes would be the outright division champions. But a loss coupled with an Alexander win would result in a three-way split championship.
We want to win the TVC-Ohio outright. We're also fighting for playoff positioning
so we have a lot to lose Boston said. We have a big game this weekend and we're preparing accordingly. Our kids know what's at stake.
Boston said execution will be key against an Athens team that has a multi-dimensional offense.
They have a lot of team speed. We know the potential Trey Harris has to throw the ball
he said. But they have also been operating out of the wildcat and have been pretty successful doing so.
Boston said the seniors have done a great job of leading the team all season, and he expects that to continue this weekend.
This is senior night
and it's our last game at home unless we happen to host a playoff game
he said. We tell them
'This is your team
and they will roll as you roll.'
TRIMBLE
After four games, Trimble was 1-3 and on the outside looking in on the playoff race. Five weeks later, the Tomcats haven't lost another game and have a chance to clinch their first playoff appearance since 2008.
We've been pretty focused
Trimble coach Phil Faires said. We knew we would have to win our last six games
and this is number six. Our kids know what they're playing for.
Trimble's offense scored 12 points or less in three of its first four games but has scored 220 points during its past five games.
We've been getting better week-to-week
Faires said. Our offensive line has shown vast improvement
