How do you feel about the transition from quarters to semesters? Are you confident or are you not? Do you think we should have made the switch earlier?
We should have done it earlier - I'm education and our senior year is when we do internships. It's hard to do on the quarters system because you have to go for a full semester. It would be easier
but that's just me. - Betty Kallner, junior studying family and consumer sciences education and integrated language arts education
Since all of Ohio is switching and probably three-fourths of America is on semesters it's not bad. It will be different and even though winter break is nice
people need to understand it's not like that everywhere.
After everyone has graduated who was under the quarters system, it will probably clear up and go smoothly. I mean, quarters are nice because after you end one, you get a break and on semesters you have work to do through Thanksgiving. But everything is really rushed in the classroom on quarters. It would've been nice to learn math at a semester pace. -Bryan Morton

I think the undergrad administration has done a good job talking to students - I'm out of state, so I personally like quarters, but with semesters, you can have better internships and study abroad. It's good that Ohio is switching together so all universities are uniform.
As a tour guide
I tell people to go to www.ohio.edu/students/q2s and students usually feel better once they see the process and what has gone into making this smooth. -Makenzie Bowker, senior studying magazine journalism and a tour guide of four years
In the Q2S transition
my only concern is to make sure study abroad programs are as easy to go on and are as affordable because of the increased time abroad. Hopefully even more students choose to study abroad for the extra couple weeks in the semester compared to the 10-week quarter. I had a really good experience when I went abroad the first time
so I went again and I'm going in the winter. I actually added Spanish as a major after I completed the two-year requirement for Arts and Sciences. - Thomas Rabbee, senior studying Spanish and political science and College of Arts & Sciences senator
