Life is often unfair and short.
Everyday something reminds us that we should be living life to the fullest. Whether it be a death, a national tragedy or seeing other people gallivanting in happiness. So why do we, especially myself, constantly find ourselves stressing over, worrying about or getting upset over the small things?
Life is it - it is the only thing that you are ever certain about, besides death - and yet we constantly find ourselves taking life for granted. Why is the fact we are alive something we seem to overlook when waking up each morning? Why is the fact you are alive the last thing you think about when having the best day ever? Why is life something we don't seem to understand anymore? Or have we ever really understood life?
It is something we never fully will understand, but here is what I understand about life.
Life is the air you breathe, it is the heart that pumps your blood, it is the emotions you feel whether they are good or bad, it is moments that outline each day. Life is here in the morning, the afternoon and the evening. It is like your best friend that you can count on to get you through your drunkest nights. Without life, you would have nothing, literally, nothing, even days when you think the entire world is out to get you - you still have life.
It is in the hands of the beholder to determine what one would like to do with their life. But, I suggest that it is time to stop blocking out people who want to be a part of your life. It is time to start smiling more often than you frown. It is time to be that person who makes others feel good. And, most importantly, it is time to start remembering what life is all about.
As a dedication to all of those who has inspired, helped and loved an individual. I thank you for teaching me how to live, love, smile and cherish my life and all those who make it what it is.
