As Ohio's Senior Day victory last week increased the Bobcats' chances of making a bowl game, it also earned coach Frank Solich $5,000.
His base salary from Ohio University is $330,000, the fourth highest for coaches in all sports in the Mid-American Conference last year.
Solich, who has accumulated a 39-34 record in his tenure, has led the team to two MAC Championship games and two bowl games since coming to Ohio in 2005.
The contract between the university and Solich stipulates a bonus of $5,000 for a seven-win season - and each subsequent victory until the ninth. If Ohio wins more than nine games this season, Solich would earn $10,000 for each additional win.
Included in Solich's contract is a guaranteed $70,000 for appearances, apparel contracts and his duties as associate Athletics director.
This season, if the Bobcats were to capture a MAC-East crown, a MAC championship and a bowl victory, Solich would earn a combined $112,500 in bonuses.
If Solich won the MAC Coach of the Year award, he would earn an additional $10,000.
