Sharing itunes libraries

For heaven's sake, friends, share your iTunes library. The logic behind this is obvious: share the bounty. Just when you thought you'd heard your collection twice over there is Cookie Monster's Library. Just like that, all the Paramore, All American Rejects and Taylor Swift you could ever, er, want is there for your listening pleasure. All I know is I have a crush on Danz Tunez. Any boy who has the complete discography of The Shins, Fountains of Wayne and Billy Joel is cool in my book. The very best part about home sharing, though? Looking around Alden trying to figure out who is the owner of not two, but three Yanni albums ... ouch.

Super Bowl Anticipation

I'm excited about the Super Bowl. Green Bay is great, the Steelers are great, the commercials are going to be great, the half-time show will at least be entertaining, and there is always a unrelenting supply of nachos and Velveeta dip. But above all, I'm really excited that it wasn't last weekend. I'm ashamed to admit, but when the volumes of Steelers fans were extolling their team up and down Court Street last weekend, I actually thought I missed the Super Bowl. I hastily Googled the game and realized that the Steelers were going to the Super Bowl - not that it already happened. Sure I'm out of touch, but thank the powers that be for Google and a spare Terrible Towel to wipe my perspired relief.

'Battlestar Galactica'

I know this is a few years late, but I finally started watching the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. It's fracking awesome. The story is fascinating, the acting is amazing and the suspense is pulse-pounding. The only problem so far is I don't know who is a Cylon, so I've just been sitting in front of my television, watching the show on Netflix Instant Stream and yelling, Cylon! whenever someone suspicious walks into the scene. I've also had dreams that people I work with are Cylons. There's nothing odd about that, right?

Union Street Diner

My first time in Athens, I was told that Union Street Diner (or USD) is the greasiest spoon in Athens. Whoever told me that forgot to mention that it is also the best diner in Athens, despite the higher-profile Court Street Diner getting most of the town's attention. USD may not have quaint '50s decorations and a shiny bar, but it's the real deal: the kind of place a film noire detective would contemplate his notes over hash browns and coffee. Its menu has all the classic diner staples, so feel free to get breakfast at any hour and enjoy free refills on your coffee. Head over to 70 W. Union St. for the best meal you'll ever get in Athens.
