Coming off of a 2-0 weekend, the Bobcats are back in the pool for a rare midweek matchup.
Ohio will travel to Marshall today to face the Thundering Herd. The meet will start at 5 p.m. in the •Frederick A. Fitch Natatorium in Huntington, W.V.
Marshall is a unique opportunity for us in that it is the only midweek competition that we have all year beyond the Championships
coach •Greg Werner said.
Training and preparation for the event will be different for Ohio; so different in fact that some of Ohio's top competitors might not make the trip.
We have some people that do have some classes and projects that take priority so they won't be making the trip Werner said. But that's okay that just means that's an opportunity for someone else.
The Thundering Herd enter tonight's meet coming off a loss at Akron and with a 2-4 record in duel meets this season.
For Ohio, the success of its last two meets provided encouragement that even during long layoffs, the team can still return and compete at a high level.
We were really happy with what we saw last weekend Werner said of Ohio's home wins against Youngstown State and Denison. It was our first opportunity to compete in five weeks. Coming off of the training camp and the over-yardage type of training you really don't know what you're going to get.
Perhaps the biggest story line of last week was the performance of redshirt senior Lindsay Hamilton, who won Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week honors after setting records on the 3-meter board with an overall score of 329.56, breaking her own record in the event of 325.58.
Obviously anytime you set a school record you've done something special
said Werner. Lindsay's really having a great year and last weekend was just a tremendous weekend for her.
