Another meet, another brilliant performance by Lindsay Hamilton.
The diver led the Bobcats to their third straight duel meet victory as Ohio defeated Marshall 132-87. Hamilton set another school record this time on the 1-meter board posting a 306.38.
Ohio coach Greg Werner was pleased with Hamilton's performance. He also watched as his team record many of their best individual times on the night.
We had a few people that were exceptional that did some season bests or life-time bests
said Werner. Right now we are trying to take ownership in many aspects of sport but specifically know what you need to do to put yourselves in the best position to succeed.
Hamilton also shined on the 3-meter board posting a 311.25, a score just off of her record setting output of 329.56 against Denison in the Bobcats' last meet.
As for the team, Ohio came out strong and had a team member finish first in each of their first six events. The Thundering Herd began to close the gap at the end, but it was too late.
The Bobcats had a first place finisher in 10 out of Tuesday's 14 events.
I thought we competed well. Werner said. We had some good times but times were a little bit off of what we saw maybe a week-and-a-half-ago but that doesn't surprise me.
The lesson of improvement was one that was very important to Werner, which less-experienced Laurin Williams showed after her 1000 Freestyle.
She wasn't real happy with her 1000 Freestyle and she had a good time she got second and it was a nice swim but she immediately said she didn't feel like she didn't enough warming up she didn't prepare adequately.
Werner pointed out Williams' strong comeback in the 500 Freestyle, which she finished with her fastest time of the season.
That previous swim helped warm her up for her second swim and that is exactly what we are trying to do now
Werner said.
The Bobcats will be back in action for their final home meet before the MAC Championships when they host Akron this Saturday at 1 p.m.
