Police have recovered the body of 84-year-old Denzle Stanley off of County Rd. 10. The Albany man first went missing in early January.
Stanley wandered away from his Mill Street home, in Albany, on January 5. County and local law enforcement officials spent days searching the snow covered region before calling off the search at the start of hunting season.
In previous interviews, Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly said foul play was not believed to be a factor in Stanley's disappearance.
Kelly broke the news to Athens County residents via Facebook and Twitter around 1:30 p.m. today.
"Please keep the family in your prayers," Kelly wrote on his facebook page.
