It was a tough weekend for the Bobcats at the UC Spring Invitational.
Ohio finished 13th overall in the event after finishing in the top 10 following the first day.
Three Bobcats finished Sunday’s final round with sub-80 scores. Erin Cahill and Megan Weaver both shot scores of 76, which tied them for 32nd overall in the tournament.
Ohio ended Friday’s first round action in the top 10, finishing ninth overall when four Bobcats finished with sub-80 rounds. Overall, the Bobcats shot a three round 72-over-936 (310-312-314).
Sunday’s final round was the Bobcats’ worst effort of the weekend, however. After finishing 13th after Saturday’s round, the Bobcats still remained locked in the 13th spot.
North Texas took the lead away from Morehead State, who had lead until Sunday’s round, and ran away with the Spring Classic, winning it by 13 strokes.
Florida Gulf Coast’s Briana Carlson won the UC Spring Classic. She shot a 5-under-211, including a Sunday best 5-under-67.
Next weekend, the Bobcats will take part in the Spring Challenge Cup in Fishers, Indiana at The Hawthorn’s Golf & Country Club.
