Baseball: Storms squelch contest between 'Cats, Penguins

Rain has washed away another Bobcat baseball game.

Ohio’s home game against Youngstown State, which was scheduled for 6 p.m. yesterday, was postponed until May 4 due to expected inclement weather.

The Bobcats’ game against Ohio State tonight is still scheduled to be played at 6 p.m., however.

This is the third time in the past week the Bobcats have had a game canceled or postponed. Last week, a contest with Bowling Green was postponed and a game with Cincinnati was canceled.

Athens has been hit hard with rain all month, and the National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Athens County over the weekend.

Forecasts call for thunderstorms and a high of 82 degrees for tonight’s game against the Buckeyes at Bob Wren Stadium.
