Athens City Garage employees reported yesterday that over $1,500 worth of equipment was stolen from a city utility truck.
The employees noticed that a band saw and a 2,000-watt generator was stolen from the truck March 29. The total worth of the two items is $1,770.
The truck was parked in the city service garage, 387 W. State St., when the theft took place
Employees asked other departments if they had borrowed the equipment, according to the police report. When the employees were not able to locate the equipment, they reported it stolen.
Athens Police officers have no suspects at this time.
