An Ohio University student has been critically injured in an off-campus accident.
The Office of Communications and Marketing released a statement today that a student was transported to a Columbus hospital yesterday morning following an accident. It does not state the nature or location of the incident.
According to the Athens Police Department, a hit-and-run incident occurred yesterday morning involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. However, police have not finished a police report or a press release.
“We do not know the exact cause of the student’s injuries, but do not believe that they were sustained on campus," states the release from Communications and Marketing.
The university has not released the student’s name, but says it is in contact with family members.
