Athens Police are investigating a reported sexual assault at Riverpark Towers late Friday night — one of three sexual assaults reported this weekend.
At about 10 p.m. Friday, a woman reported two black males sexually assaulted her in an apartment at Riverpark Towers.
This alleged sexual assault is one of three reported this weekend.
A second female victim reported she was sexually assaulted at the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity house, 50 E. State St., early Saturday morning. The female reported the incident occurred during a party at the house between the hours of midnight and 1 a.m.
Another female student also reported she was sexually assaulted Saturday. This alleged sexual assault occurred near Christ the King Church, 75 Stewart St. The victim reported that a black male approached her in the parking lot behind the church.
The suspect pulled out a large knife and forced the victim to a small outbuilding where he raped her, according to a campus crime alert.
He is described as a black male about 19 to 24 years old and 6 feet to 6 feet 4 inches tall. He was wearing dark pants and a sweatshirt.
Athens Police officer Rick Olexa said the incidents do not seem to be related.
“(APD is) taking this very seriously,” Olexa said.
