After picking up some ammo from Ohio Valley Trading & Exchange, I was excited for my second outing of the year to Strouds Run State Park’s shooting range. When I arrived, I was appalled to see that the range will be closed until 2012.
No reason was listed, and the people at Strouds Run State Park were unwilling to tell me why.
I am still waiting to hear back from the Second Amendment Club on their understanding of the situation.
This was one of only three unregulated outdoor pistol and rifle ranges in southern Ohio. It really disheartens me to see that it is closed for so long, and it makes it harder that I cannot find a firm reason why it closed.
Did an incident go awry? Did local interest groups lobby successfully to make it close?
What is the deal?
I want to shoot some guns! It is still my right, right?
