Student involved in hit-and-run identified

Athens police have identified the student in Wednesday's hit and run.

Aaron Trout, 26, of Albany, was involved in the accident Wednesday morning and taken to a hospital in Columbus. Trout was described as in "very serious condition" yesterday by Ohio University Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi.

This morning, Trout updated his Facebook saying, "Thanks for all the support! It means a lot!" to concerned friends. He also posted that he suffered a broken shoulder and pelvis, as well as 10 fractures in his foot and ribs.

Trout is currently studying education at OU and is the son of Alan Trout and Athens County Clerk of Courts Ann Trout.

Athens Police emphasized they are not releasing details because a police report has not been completed yet and would only say the incident is still under investigation.
