Assistant Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn was appointed acting county prosecutor today.
The County Commissioners Central Committee appointed Blackburn with a 2-0 vote. Blackburn will serve as acting County Prosecutor until the committee appoints the interim prosecutor June 7.
The current County Prosecutor C. David Warren’s term is finished in 2012, but he announced he will resign May 31. The interim prosecutor will serve until the new prosecutor is elected in 2012.
Blackburn and Athens City Law Director Pat Lang are seeking appointment as interim prosecutor.
