Chrysten Crockett will be a prudent, forward-looking and diligent replacement to Patty Roberts as treasurer in Student Senate.
Crockett’s business portfolio, independent profile, consulting experience and leadership of organizations make her extremely qualified to preside over the student treasury.
She is the only female executive nominee on a Student Senate ticket, and is a member of the FACE Party. She is a junior business major known to be down-to-earth, approachable and an all-around team player. Her nomination was obviously accepted with the future in mind to get work done.
Crockett’s positive attitude bodes well in the choice for treasurer. Her opponent’s experience as an officer in the youth wing of state Republicans is missing from his campaign record since he transferred to OU his junior year.
That partisan experience puts his 2011 candidacy in direct conflict with students, who are better served by non-partisans at the university level. That opponent needs to engage students’ collective interests as a senator from 2011-12 instead of as an executive.
Crockett’s involvement in campus organizations and as a leader in business and resident involvement are assets to her that cannot be emphasized enough. Her candidacy is as much a surprise as it is a blessing.
Chrysten will be a rock-solid treasurer as a kind member of our community whose service is well recognized and whose work spans whole oceans.
Crockett is project-oriented, funny and her work over the past three years is crucial for the next treasurer we deserve.
She’s an independent nominee and possesses a very strong character for treasurer. Crockett’s team-builder role as a consultant, participant in organizations and neighborly demeanor make her the eclectic treasurer we need in this hard time.
An independent and honest ability to tell students’ interests is the deciding factor for me.
Chrysten Crockett is a proactive leader to bring us all together, no matter how different we are. Please vote for her May 18 or 19 online.
