Post Letter: Online photos not troubling for women

In response to Lindsay Radomski’s letter “Senate candidates must be reputable” I found it almost laughable that she somehow managed to turn tagged photos of FACE presidential candidate Matt Wallace from Palmerfest into something that should “cause alarm” for women on campus.

After looking at the photos, I really did not think they were as bad she claimed. Honestly, did Matthew Wallace or any FACE members walk around Palmerfest asking to sign bare backside’s of girls?

Maybe you should be chiding the girl that asked him to do this in the first place.

Secondly, after viewing the picture of the student wielding a backpack and urinating on the fence, I was not able to tell that he was wearing a FACE shirt because the picture was taken from a distance. So how would you know it is a FACE shirt?

The other picture of Wallace standing next to a man holding a sign that says “free moustache rides” is mild compared to things I saw other girls doing at the Fest.

If anything, Wallace seems to be conforming to the antics of the student body. So, I guess you can’t be too harsh on him for representing the student body.

Overall, I think your letter misleads the readers into thinking that Wallace is chauvinistic, when he poses no threat to the female population on this campus.

There are real concerns that women face at OU and Matthew Wallace is not one of them.
