Millfield man pleads guilty to burglary, theft of numerous Walmart electronics

 

A Millfield, Ohio, man pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and theft yesterday, after taking electronics from Walmart and a Chauncey residence on several occasions.

Rusty Carsey, 29, pleaded guilty to four counts of theft and one count of burglary, fifth and third degree offenses, respectively, according to a news release.

Between September 26 and November 7, 2010, Carsey took an HP desktop computer, a Vizio LED HDTV and a Dell desktop computer from the Athens Walmart.

In addition, the defendant entered a Chauncey, Ohio, residence by force on February 28 of this year and removed various items including jewelry, coins and electronics, according to the release.

Judge Michael Ward sentenced Carsey to five years at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and is ordered to pay court costs and restitution.

The case was investigated by the Athens Police Department and the Athens County Sheriff’s Office.
