A Pomeroy man pleaded guilty to heroin possession yesterday after transporting 14 unit doses of the drug into the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
Ian Stevers, 26, appeared before Judge Michael Ward a change of plea hearing yesterday, where he pleaded guilty.
Stevers pleaded guilty to both possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony, and illegal conveyance of prohibited items onto grounds of specified government facility, a third-degree felony, according to a news release from Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.
On March 19, Stevers transported the drugs into SEORJ, Blackburn said.
Stevers' sentencing hearing is scheduled for Aug. 15.
