Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly announced he will be running for re-election in 2012, according to a post today on his Facebook page.
“I have with transparency and with great pride in my staff and employees for a job well done, addressed the issues confronted me when you elected me Athens County Sheriff last election and humbly and with great appreciation, ask you to return me to the job I love so much,” stated the post.
Kelly, a Nelsonville-York High School and Hocking College graduate, began his local law enforcement career in 1977 at the Athens County Sheriff's Office under former Sheriff Paul Brown.
