Note: This is an update of an earlier story that said Joseph Cherico was arrested. He was not arrested but only fined.
A member of the Ohio University men’s cross country team was fined this weekend for disorderly conduct.
Joseph Cherico, 21, of Strongsville, Ohio, was cited at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, according to documents from the Athens County Municipal Court. He could have appeared before court Tuesday morning to appeal but did not. The incident took place at Big Mama’s Burritos, located at 10 S. Court St.
Cherico is a junior studying business and finance. He has competed in 15 cross country meets during his collegiate career.
