This year, Ohio University Improv is continuing its tradition of supplying weekly entertainment for those in need of a good time and a big laugh.
“We just want to make sure people know about us, and if are interested, come and see us,” Andrew Sigris, Black Sheep Inc. Creative Director, said.
The group is comprised of two student organizations, Black Sheep Inc. and Six to Midnight. These troupes practice long form improv where everything is unplanned, unscripted, and the audience is encouraged to participate.
“Every show is new. You never see the same thing twice and you never know what you are going to see,” Sigris said.
Ohio University Improv is in the process of receiving funds from the Student Activities Council to have professional visitors throughout the year, Cat Abood, fundraising contributor for the group, said.
Although the group is unable to hold auditions this year they have created a workshop for those interested in joining. Improv members are also encouraged to attend the shows on Thursday nights.
Workshops are held Saturdays 1 to 3 p.m. in Kantner Hall.
The troupe also hosts free shows every Thursday night at eight in Bentley Hall in room 214.
“Sometimes it is hard to come because it’s Thursday and you want to go out. But, you can always come to the show before,” Khoury said.
