On Monday, state Senator Troy Balderson (R–94th) was named to four senate standing committees.
The move, effective immediately, will have Balderson serving as Vice-Chairman of the senate Energy and Public Utilities Committee; on a chair of the senate Agriculture Committee; senate Health, Human Services and Aging Committee; and the senate Highways & Transportation Committee.
Balderson was appointed by Ohio Senate President Thomas Niehaus, R–14th.
“I would like to thank Senate President Niehaus for these assignments,” Balderson said in a news release. “Each one of these committees holds a unique significance and deals with issues critical to Southeast Ohio. It is my sincere hope to assist in driving debate and cultivating effective policies.”
Balderson served in the Ohio House of Representatives before taking over Jimmy Stewart’s seat after his summer resignation.
