Post Letter: Faculty must reach out to campus employees

Obviously, something has to be done for students who work on this campus. This yearlong rant about student employees and campus workers and job opportunities probably has a decent basis; however, things that need to be dealt with have really amplified during the past six months.

I think it’s time the faculty sends a message to employees on the Athens campus: You are being heard, we are here to help you, and we will protect you during budget cuts.

The best advice I have for students is to reach out to your administrators. Most likely, the people who are unresponsive are the people who are farthest removed from the core working environment of student employees. Students who are unresponsive probably lack the time to see for themselves the work that gets done.

Continue to reach out and be heard at Ohio University.
