Your editorial complaining about Ohio University’s support of the new Athens city fire truck was a disappointment, and rather selfish.
You are, by your own admission, residents of the city and students of the university.
This decision was made by politics, the appropriate means for the city’s representative government and the university’s appointed officials.
Maybe the university gets something it wants, like a curb cut somewhere.
I don’t know anything more about this decision than you do, but it’s pretty clear to me that you all just need to do your civic duty.
