Visiting high-school student hit by CATS bus outside Baker

About 3:15 p.m. today a girl on a college visit at Ohio University was struck by a bus while crossing the street.

The girl was hit by a CATS bus while crossing Park Place in front of Baker University Center. She was on a college visit with her grandparents, according to witnesses.  

Ohio University Police Officer Brandon King was first to respond but had no comment on the incident.

The girl was transported to a hospital, but witnesses said she seemed in stable condition.

“She could talk but not get up,” said Shoko Igarash, an international student who as waiting at the bus stop during the accident. Igarash was able to find help in Baker Center and other students called 911.
