Beer pong, shots, loud music and costumes took center stage in the latest public service announcement from the Ohio University Dean of Students Office.
The video, which offers safety tips for the upcoming Halloween block party, features students partying, getting inebriated, and then reminding one another that responsibility is key in any Athens party situation.
Titled “Songs In Real Life,” the video incorporated slices of lyrics from Salt ’n’ Pepa, Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Celine Dion and more.
After students discuss their Halloween escapades and determine to party responsibly this year, the video closes with advice from Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi, Vice President for Student Affairs Kent Smith, and Assistant Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones.
Most problems that arise on Halloween are caused by outside visitors, not OU students and Athens residents, Lombardi says.
Hall-Jones encourages students to drink responsibly on Halloween and to stay with their guests while they’re Uptown or at parties.
Smith closes the video by reminding students to respect others' properties and to listen to police officers patrolling during Halloween.
