Laughin' Athens: The Corridor fills bubble tea with the gigglies

Walking into a room with candles lit and the smell of tea one would not expect to find the place full of comedians but that is exactly what happened this past Friday night at Gigi’s Bubble Tea.

Blue Pencil Comedy held their first weekly installment of the newly created show- The Corridor. The comedians and audience were noticeably at ease as they enjoyed the material, beverages, and new type of atmosphere.

“I thought the show went great,” Eudora Peterson said, president of Blue Pencil Comedy. “It really felt like a New York type of club with the music, the venue, and just the way things were set up.”

The audience, though supportive, had many different reactions in response to the comedians and their jokes. Possibly indicating that it wasn’t the groups’ best night in the spotlight.

“I thought the show was good but some were defiantly better than others,” Brittnay Follett, a freshman majoring in environmental biology and show spectator, said.

Jokes from comedians Brandon Ivey, Brian Peacock, Caz Finnegan, Eudora Peterson, Max Cothrel, and Zac Coleman included topics like Kanye West, dating, sweating, and many others.

“I would just describe my style of comedy as funny,” Caz Finnegan, Blue Pencil Comedy group member, said.

The show did not contain any forms of experimental comedy this week but show host Brandon Ivey stated at the end of the show that they do plan on having different styles of comedy in the future.

Overall, the show went off without a hitch and audience members can expect to see greatly hilarious jokesters at The Corridor in the future.
