A student group advocating for national reform has the support of President Roderick McDavis.
The Occupy OhioU group, an extension of the national Occupy Wall Street movement, is working on plans to begin advocating for reform with protests on Saturday.
“I think it’s great to have students and faculty who express thoughts and feelings on the issues of our time,” McDavis said.
They plan to protest in the space between Alden Library and the president’s house, 29 Park Place, according to a previous Post article.
A set place for the protests has not been established but McDavis said the university would find room.
“I’m sure we’ll be able to find a space where students and faculty can do their events and activities,” McDavis said.
He expects the protests to happen without any major incidents.
