OU extends Nursing master program online

Students hoping to enter the nursing field will have expanded distance-learning options at Ohio University starting next winter.

OU is accepting applications for an online Master of Science in Nursing; the first students to enter the program will begin during Winter Quarter.

The program will be completely online, and students will be able to complete rotations with approved supervisors where they live, according to a university news release.

The MSN program will offer family nurse practitioner, nurse administrator and nurse educator specialties. Students participating in the program will complete 55 quarter credit hours or between 36 and 41 semester credit hours.

“Ohio University’s visibility in the nursing industry stems from our longevity and history with our online and on-campus nursing programs,” School of Nursing Director Mary Bowen said in the release. “This visibility carries a positive reputation that helps our nursing students feel prepared and empowered.”r
