Post Letter: Tribute to Campus Sundry owner appreciated

The family of Paul Abraham is most appreciative of the tribute to him in the article written by staff writer Ryan Clark in the Oct. 3 issue.

Abraham was born to eternal life on Sept. 28, 2011. He was owner of the Campus Sundry for more than 50 years and it was the oldest single-operated business in the Court Street area.

We also thank all the students and townspeople who placed notes, cards and flowers on the front door of the Sundry.

Abraham, an Athens native, was a graduate of Ohio University, and come June 2012, 14 members of the Abraham clan (now numbering 81) will have graduated from OU.

He’s probably already opened up another Sundry in the great beyond and is waiting to see everyone again someday.

He was a true humanitarian and loved all those he met over the years, and especially his beloved pet, “Star.”

His many employees and customers included several who went on to achieve national fame. Again, we thank you.

R. J. Abraham is the brother of Paul and

resides in Athens.
