In less than two weeks, Ohio University students and employees can head to the polls to officially mark their stance on Ohio Senate Bill 5 by voting on Issue 2.
Today, they can brush up on their understanding of the controversial bill that limits the collective-bargaining rights of public employees.
At 8 tonight, Newswatch In-Depth: Yes or No for SB 5? will air on WOUB-TV.
The special will also air at woub.org and on WOUB-FM.
The hourlong call-in special will include commentary from Pete Couladis, chairman of the Athens County Republican Party; Rep. Debbie Phillips, D-92nd; Rep. Andy Thompson, R-93rd; and Dale Butland of We Are Ohio, an organization fighting to repeal SB 5.
The panel will represent both sides of the SB 5 argument — that it undermines public workers' rights and that it brings state spending under control.
WOUB will take viewers' questions during the debate. Questions can be submitted by calling 1-800-456-2044 or by tweeting @woubnews with the hashtag #SB5.
