Columbus-native singer and songwriter, Joey Hebo, will be pulling the plug on tonight’s “super show” to welcome the latest addition to his family.
Hebdo, who has been playing every Thursday night of the quarter at Jackie O’s Pub and Brewery, 24 W. Union St., canceled his last gig to be with his sister, who is expected to have a child today.
Hebdo said he was very pleased with the crowd’s reaction to each artist that played with him this past fall.
“Everyone was extremely enthusiastic, whether it was the players or the listeners,” Hebdo said. “Jackie O’s never failed to be flexible and each week’s special guest helped carve out a unique vibe.”
Hebdo said that he has no definite plans for the future, but will surely be returning to the Athens stage in the near future.
“If enough people speak up, maybe Jackie O’s will have me back next quarter,” Hebdo said.
After releasing his first album, Prosciuto, in 2009, Hebdo is in the process of producing a collaborative and a solo album this winter.
Heavily inspired by his past travels, Hebdo said he looks forward to new adventures waiting in the spring. Hebdo will take his act to New York City and to Austin, Tex., for the annual music and art festival South by Southwest in March.
