Another Athens County resident has come forward to run for Athens County Commissioner in the general election next fall.
Gary Edwards, a resident of Nelsonville and owner of the Pit Stop Drive Thru, 1120 East Canal St., picked up petitions from the Athens County Board of Elections yesterday to run for the position.
Charlie Adkins, Paul Barrett, and Mark Sullivan have all filed petitions to run for the position of Athens County Commissioner. Adkins has filed petitions to run against current Athens County Commissioner Larry Payne while Barrett has filed to run against current Sullivan, who is also an Athens County Commissioner.
