Today, faculty and staff can ditch the books and head to Baker.
The second annual resource fair will take place until 3 p.m. today in Baker University Center Ballroo.
Almost 350 guests have registered — an increase from last year, which had 250 registered but almost 300 in attendance.
"We got good responses last year,” said Jennifer Jordan, manager of human resources services. “A lot of the vendors thought it was worthwhile, so they wanted to come back.”
Among the 35 vendors, there will be some addressing retirement, banking and pharmacy care.
Faculty and staff also have the opportunity to get a free flu shot if they are signed to the university’s health care plan. As part of the new “express scripts” program, employees are also able to travel to local pharmacies and get the flu shot.
With door prizes and light refreshments, Jordan said she thinks the event would be valuable to faculty and staff.
“It’s a way to get a step away from the office and learn what’s available and meet these resources face to face, both external and internal to the university,” she said.
