Sandra Inman found competent to stand trial

A second psycological evaluation of the woman who allegedly murdered her daughter-in-law has found her to be competent to stand trial.

In September, Sandra K. Inman, 46, was charged with one count of murder, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse after her daughter-in-law, Summer Inman of Logan, was found dead in a septic tank in Nelsonville six months earlier.

Sandra pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. Sandra's first psycological evaluation found her competent and after her lawyer requested another, the second found the same.

The competency findings mean she is able to assist in her defense at trial. Her competency is separate from the question of her sanity at the time that Summer Inman was abducted and killed.

In connection with her death, Summer Inman’s estranged husband and father-in-law pleaded not guilty to charges of murder, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and gross abuse of a corpse.

Sandra could be sentenced to 15 years to life in prison if convicted of her charges, according to the Ohio Revised Code.
