Student Athletic Training Club hosts wing fundraiser

Students have an excuse to hit up Buffalo Wild Wings tonight despite the fact that it is not Wing Tuesday or Boneless Thursday.

The Ohio University Student Athletic Training Club is offering students a reason to make an extra trip to the sports bar with a fundraiser at 6 p.m. tonight.

Students or faculty members who eat at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight can have a portion of their bill donated to the club.

Felicia Dunn, the president of the Student Athletic Training Club, helped organize the fundraiser.

“Hopefully with Monday night football, a lot of people will come in for the game, a great meal and to help us raise money for our fundraiser,” Dunn said.

Monday will be the first time the club has collaborated with a restaurant.

“Usually we do smaller fundraisers like bake sales, but we hope to raise money at BW3s to go towards a banquet for the graduating class,” Dunn said. “We invite parents so they can see the accomplishments that athletic trainers have done.”

The organization brings together Athletic Training students who work across different athletic fields.

“We work with all the athletics on campus to help take care of them during activities,” Dunn said. “The club allows us to come together.”

In order to help out the club, students or staff must get a ticket beforehand. Tickets are located at Baker University Center, Walter Hall and Grover Center. Students can then attach the ticket to their receipt at Buffalo Wild Wings.

“The OUSATC gets 10 percent of the bill, which will help us out a lot if enough people go,” Dunn said.
